Inrush management

The Inrush Management app allows users to visualise data from multiple sources for the purpose of quantifying and visualising inrush risk on a block cave footprint. Pulling data sources from the Caving Suite, and additional information from site observation of drawpoint conditions, bogging status and PCBC clay forecasting, information is categorized and ranked based on the site-specific risk framework. The app can also be configured to consider any range of data available on site, along with specific categories and risk rankings to produce plots overlain on the cave footprint, pertaining to inrush risk and associated factors.

The completely customisable nature of the app supports a site-specific solution that can easily be integrated into reporting and operational briefings, supporting clear communication across the workforce. By using standard data formats, calculations and visualisations, the time required for analysis is reduced, enabling engineers and operational personnel onsite more time to manage the potential for inrush through informed risk-based decisions. With opportunity to integrate database connections into the app, there is also a potential to generate "live feed" style data that can be displayed in key locations such as shift change spaces to further inform personnel of the status underground.

An additional feature available in the app allows users to quickly visualise geometries on the cave footprint and determine what size bund is feasible given operational requirements and restrictions in relation to the distance remaining between the bullnose and the drawpoint brow. Using recommended calculation methods outlined by the NSW and QLD Resources Regulators, combined with drawpoint specific geometries, this feature aims to support both short term operational controls and longer term rehabilitation planning, helping balance brow replacement and impact on bunding effectiveness at each drawpoint.

Implementing the app for your site

The Inrush Management App is not currently available within the standard suite of available mXrap apps. For any site looking to implement this tool, the intention is that the framework is customised to the individual site requirements as there is no standard across industry and individual site requirements, trigger levels and controls need to be incorporated into the app. Resolve works with mine operations to ensure that the app is aligned with the site risk management framework and associated Principal Hazard Management Plans.

Minor additional fee on mXrap annual maintenance for access to the app once set-up.
